The Agricultural Finance and Rural Infrastructure Development Department of the African Development Bank Group will host a 90-minute discussion with emerging agriculture-sector SMEs on Monday, 7 September 2020, at 3 pm Central African Time.

Integrating African Food Systems through the Lens of SME Champions will focus on amplifying the voices of small and medium enterprises in the production, processing, logistics, and cold chain solutions sub-sectors. A panel of SME owners and entrepreneurs will share their experiences and vision for an accelerated transformation of the African food system.

The overall objective of the session is to start telling stories about the African food and agriculture value chain through the voices of the movers and shakers on the ground – SMEs.

The session will include a video with contextual analytics and infographics that will enable participants to visualize key food system statistics and the need for action. The expected outcome is to REIMAGINE the transformation of the food system, specific enablers for step-change, challenges and identified priority policy actions, as articulated through the voice of Champion SMEs that make up key value chains.
