Home/News and Events/Video: Bank’s Governor for Chad on the importance of African nations investing in themselves
To achieve the Africa we want, the African Development Bank’s Governor for Chad, Issa Doubragne, says countries must invest in themselves by investing in basic infrastructure to boost their economies.
“It is very important to process here whatever creates added value… and increases the chances of our economies escaping poverty,” the Minister for Economy, Planning and Development said.
Doubragne further urges central African nations to focus on economic diversification and reduce their dependence on oil exports. He asks governments to consider investing in six high-value sectors to avoid economic stagnation.
