We’re sharing how we kept the Google Play and Android app ecosystems safe in 2025.

We’ve seen a clear impact from our safety efforts on Google Play. In 2025, we deployed advanced AI-powered defenses to combat apps that cause real-world harm, such as malware, financial fraud and more. We prevented over 1.75 million policy-violating apps from being published on Google Play and banned more than 80,000 bad developer accounts that attempted to publish harmful apps.

We also continued to improve our protections for the broader Android ecosystem by expanding Google Play Protect, which now scans over 350 billion Android apps daily. We launched real-time security measures like in-call scam protections to help keep users safe from scams, fraud and other threats.
